An act has been presented last week to the House of Representatives in Washington which will exclude all online gambling to state borders, prohibiting firms from requesting credit card payments and E-money transfers from outside their licensed region. The law is future to inform current gambling laws which only limit telephone betting between states within the US. If the anti online gambling bill would pass then the online gambling industry is about to face a serious bolt in the face.
But the suggestion to ban online gambling acitvities may fall fowl of a World Trade Organization ruling in opposition to the US current state which had been made in August of 2005, which stated that legislators must not aggravate US citizens right of entry to overseas online gambling sites. The act might oblige ISPs to ban right of entry to online gambling sites which fall outside of US authority area.
